Who knew Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rames and Tom Cruise could be so much fun together? What’s more, Rebecca Ferguson is brilliant, bad-ass and beautiful–in that order of importance.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION is full of action and practical effects, which I love. They didn’t fall back and rely on CGI throughout. And that’s something I give Tom Cruise a lot of credit for. He hangs off the side of the plane—as you’ll see on the posters. He rides motorcycles at high speeds. He held his breath while doing underwater scenes, for several minutes.
But beyond the intrigue and action of the Impossible Mission Force facing their doom while Ethan Hunt seeks to eradicate The Syndicate, there are a lot of laughs in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION. Cruise shows, once again, that he can balance a big time role with comedic timing, on his own and through great on-screen chemistry with his cast.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION is PG-13. It’s a bit over 2 hours long, but never drags.
It is a TON of fun.
One note: if you’re looking to get a motorcycle and you’re getting any resistance from your partner, do NOT let them watch the movie…until you get the motorcycle. That’s, uh, just my personal advice.
