The Dark Universe is not one film but many in tandem, by the aptly named Universal Studios. The characters? The original silver screen monsters of old such as The Mummy, Frankenstein, his bride, The Invisible Man, The Gill Man, The Wolf Man, and Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde, to name a few.
The Dark Universe is already in full swing with the upcoming release of The Mummy (starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, and Russell Crowe) on June 9th of this year.
The picture below, released to the press this month, shows some very familiar faces, as well as their billings for their impending iconic characters:

If that weren’t enough, we were treated with a trip down memory lane with collected clips of the original black and white monster movies in trailer form accompanied with a heart-pounding thematic background score by Danny Elfman.
Bride of Frankenstein will be the next film in the series, directed by Bill Condon and scheduled for release on February 14, 2019.
