Just what we all need: A movie about a very good dog. Even better, it turns out to be a pretty darn good family movie.

MAX is a story of a U.S. Marines war dog, serving in Afghanistan. After experiencing trauma, max is adopted by his handler’s family. It’s not an easy transition for the handler’s younger brother to help Max adjust through his doggy PTSD.
They work together, play together…and they bond in a beautiful way as the young boy and his friends find their way into a dangerous situation.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Does the dog die?” “Will kids cry?” “Will i cry?”
My answer to two of those questions is yes—i just won’t tell you which 2.
I took 4 kids to the screening and they all loved MAX. They also experienced emotions, from hearty laughs to misty eyes. And that’s a good thing.
MAX is rated PG, clocking in at an hour and 51-minutes. Some of the acting is a bit cheesy, but the story allows you to look past most of it. For your family, I give MAX 4 paws.
