DOPE is about three straight-A geeks from the tough streets of Inglewood, California. They’re into early ‘90’s hip-hop and they get into a seriously dangerous dilemma.
It’s funny and revealing. And—for me—it starts with a shocking abundance of the N-word in the script. But, that has a purpose.
DOPE is filled with fresh new stars in Shameik Moore and Kiersey Clemons, along with Tony Revolori from The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Most importantly, it’s filled with a terribly important and appropriate message about the importance of equal opportunities.
It’s rated R and I highly recommend it.
